Změny krajinného krytu na území Národního parku Podyjí
PĚNKA, Tomáš
In this diploma thesis, I studied land use and land cover changes in the territory of Podyjí National Park during a period of almost 80 years. The background data were obtained from black-and-white aerial pictures from 1952, 1974 and 1989 further supplemented by two vectorized layers from 1938 and 2014. The main trends in the studied areas were a substantial growth of forest areas, decrease of permanent grasslands, and the agricultural areas. Analyses using landscape metrics showed that closed forest cover increased from 66% to 75% between 1952, 1974 and 1989. Moreover, during the same time period the area of open woodlands decreased by 3% (from 10% to 7%). The obtained results also indicated the gradual homogenization of the landscape, with changes in forest management having the greatest impact. Such trend might be dangerous especially for rare species associated with open forest habitats.
Vliv změn krajinného krytu v NP Podyjí na výskyt světlomilných organismů
KADLEC, Jan
In this thesis, I examined the effect of past (1938) and present (2014) land use/land cover on distribution of five threatened taxa and three ecological groups of threatened plants in the Podyjí National Park. The effect of past and present levels of canopy closure varied among the model organisms that mostly inhabit open and semi-open habitats. The extent of such habitats in the park is decreasing and rather low compared to the extent of closed forest. The distribution of the studied taxa of high conservation value is mostly concentrated in the river canyon. The new zonation of the park, however, allows for active conservation management measures mostly along the park edges, while the hands-off approach prevails in the river canyon. Further increase of canopy closure in the park and specifically in the river canyon may thus increase extinction risk of light demanding taxa, including target species of the park.
Střety rekreace a ochrany přírody v Národním parku Podyjí
Horáková, Martina
Thesis on topic Conflicts between recreation and nature protection in Podyjí National Park is focused on impacts of recreation and tourism on nature and landscape in Podyjí National Park and description of the major conflicts in this area. The first part contains literature overview of given issue and characteristic of the area of interest in terms of recreation and nature conservation. Next part deals with problems that are associated with visitor flow in Podyjí National Park. In final part are suggestions for reducing negative impacts of tourism and recreation.
Environmentální sucho - příčiny, důsledky, řešení
Začalová, Marie
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of Environmental Drought. The first part of the thesis introduces the general concept of drought followed by brief description of methods of assessment and drought monitoring. Consequently, contexts of commonly used types of drought are presented in relationship with the Environmental Drought. In the next part, drought is presented in the context of environmental safety, which is the content of the Environmental Safety Concept and supplemented by other documents such as Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and State Environmental Policy. Following are briefly described related regulatory tools in legislation related to drought. The practical part focuses on the locality of concern of the selected part of the National Park Podyjí. The natural conditions of the area of ??interest were introduced. Based on the results of processed data of potential evapotranspiration for the present and the outlook until the year 2100, the possible causes of environmental drought in the area of ??interest were presented. The most vulnerable parts of the ecosystem have been identified, based on the acquired land information. The causes of environmental drought and its possible impacts and partial solutions to these problems were also presented. Finally, possible conflicts of interest were evaluated in solving partial problems.
Ukázková zahrada prezentující přírodní hodnoty Národního parku Podyjí
Kmecová, Kateřina
This study describes the issues of botanical gardens showing natural values of protected areas. The potential of gardens is growing bigger same as the tourism and the interest for protected areas. Aim of this study is to propose a botanical garden in Čížov, National Park (NP) Podyjí, which will present distinctive natural communities of NP. Theoretical part of the study encompass problematics of existing botanical gardens presenting natural communities. The communities are evaluated and compared with their wild counterparts. The proposal of botanical garden is based on the requirements of NP Podyjí, analyses of natural and cultural values. Focus is given mainly on families with children. The garden main goals are education, recreation and also preservation and science. The communities will hold regional gene pool, the development will be evaluated. Information system will contain stories rather than facts, so visitors can learn effectively and easily more about preservation, history and nature itself. Last part is focused on problematics of establishment and maintenance of natural wild communities. Different ways of establishment are showed. Biological, technical, legal and ethical aspects are taken into account.
Reptile assemblages along succession gradient in oak forests of Podyji National Park
BALOUN, Jaroslav
This thesis focuses on the effects of succession on forest clearings on reptile assemblages in Podyjí National Park. The topic and results presented here follow up my bachelor thesis evaluating habitat preference of reptiles in Podyjí National Park and their assemblages on experimental clearings in the core zone of NP Podyjí. The reptile monitoring was conducted on the clearings and nearby control habitats using a method of artifical shelters and method of transect walks. Abundance of reptile species on clearings, and effect of gradual succession on the clearings on individual reptile species was studied and evaluated. While the creation of clearings clearly benefited most termophilous reptile species, including e.g. the Green lizard (Lacerta viridis) and the Aesculapian snake (Zamenis longissimus), the effect of succession is more difficult to assess owing to rather high variation among years. Only the L. viridis significantly derceased with the course of succession, while the Slow worm (Anguis fragilis) benefited from it.
Význam environmentální výuky poskytované NP Podyjí ve venkovských školách
Peřinková, Veronika
The diploma thesis analyses the importance of educational programs and environmental education in the rural primary schools. The thesis concentrates on the identification of problems and their solutions within the framework of the educational programs and materials, provided by Správa národního parku Podyjí (Podyjí National Park Administration). The work has used comparative method, questionnaire survey method, SWOT analysis and evaluation applying selected statistical methods. On the basis of reached results the fact can be stated that the importance of environmental education, supported by the national park Podyjí, constitutes a strong contribution to the education of pupils in the selected schools. Other results indicate the lack of educational programs for the second stage of the elementary education and insufficient provision of materials to visit Podyjí national park without guides. On the basis of achieved outputs, the specific forms can be designed to complete the portfolio of environmental programs and materials for the mentioned groups of recipients.
Effect of disturbances on reptile and amphibian assemblages in oak forests of Podyji National Park
BALOUN, Jaroslav
The thesis focuses on the monitoring of reptiles and amphibians of different habitats in six sampling areas in the Podyjí National Park. The monitoring was conducted by the method visually searching for reptiles along walking transect and by using black pond foils as artificial hiding places from 2012 to 2015. The thesis evaluates habitat preferences of reptile species common in the area. The most preferred were partially open habitats, such as the forest edge and open sparse oak forest. The least preferred habitat was shady, closed-canopy forest. The results demonstrate the positive effect of distrubances on most reptile species in the oak forests of Podyjí NP. Habitats suitable for numerous endangered species, including many reptiles, decline due to gradual overgrowing of sparse oak forests and woodlands. The results of this thesis highlight the importance of active conservation forest management to protect the presence of open woodlands and sparse forests.
Využití potenciálu NP Podyjí v regionálním rozvoji
Budaiová, Romana
Presented Masters thesis is aiming to defining key aspect of efficient area management and to using potential of NP Podyjí in the region development. Introduction is made by theoretical knowledge regarding given issues. Practical part is dealing with defining limits of using area of NP and different kind of participation resulting from legislation. Main aim in practical part is evaluation of results of primary research, which is made by three separate parts that are aimed to particular significant local actors. This research is part of this master thesis. In conclusion, there is presented comparison of findings of these actors.
